Bio a historie

Bob Rericha was born in Tunis. The first sounds coming to his ears were those of exotic animals from the nearby zoo, announcements of omnipresent street merchants, and sacred melodies chanted by muezzins. He received his first guitar as a birthday present when he was ten, and began writing songs at the age of fourteen.

Bob studied medicine at the Charles University in Prague, and continued with an MBA program. Gradually, his career became focused on digital solutions. He worked mainly as a creative director and idea-maker, considering music always as a hobby. Anyway, he won the National Czech singing contest in 1989, came 2nd in the Zlin Talent songwriting competition in 2008, and he several times reached top positions in the international Song Of The Year contest.

His first album „Kluk“ was published in 2014 after more than ten years of procrastination. Composed while Bob Rericha was a medicine student in Prague and during his stay in Greece and on the Tenerife Island, the music on this album is filled with sunshine and carefree mood. All twelve songs were first accompanied by just an old acoustic guitar, and only later on completely rearranged for a band. The album was produced by Stanislav Jelinek, former guitar player with the legendary Czech band "Výběr". The best known songs from this album include Christmas Song (lyrics by Joel Mosemann), Blond Angel, and Blue Sky. The most popular Czech songs are Prsa ve dlaních, Miláčku, Bublina, and Kluk s náušnicí v uchu.

The second album "Few Songs" arrived in 2015. All songs are in english, produced in Bob´s home-studio. The album mixes all sort of styles, with inspiration mainly in soul and modern contemporary. Key songs are Nobody Else, Meditation, and Roseanne. The mood range is wide, with happy and jumpy songs like Roseanne on one side, and dreamy melancholic songs on the other (Fools Parade and Meditation).

Today, Bob Rericha lives in Prague and runs an educational project https://stestinaproti.cz.
